Quick take/follow-up: Joseph R. Biden announces a "red line"
On Saturday, I examined the major party nominees for 2024 in terms of "red lines," directly referencing then-President Barack Obama's empty threat of a "red line" if Bashar al-Assad used chemical weapons against his own people. Both Donald J. Trump and Joseph R. Biden have crossed moral red lines, and I can vote for neither. Mere hours later, Joey Robinette announced his own "red line." The IDF must not, under any circumstances, launch an attack on Rafah. Rafah, one may note, is where Hamas is keeping the bulk of its resources and personnel at the moment. But leave Britney Hamas alone!!!! What have they ever done to you?!!!! Oh, right. Tough shit, you're Jews, and Jews don't have a right to defend yourselves, or rather, you do, but, and everything before the 'but' is irrelevant.
But, you cannot launch an attack on Rafah, Rafah being where Hamas has hunkered down. You can defend yourself, but any action that might lead to victory would be crossing a "red line." Remember, everything before the 'but' is irrelevant. Fortunately, Joseph R. Biden is weak. He is consciously echoing Barack Obama and Bashar al-Assad. Obama did nothing, and Biden will not attack Israel. He will not provide weapons to Hamas. Material support is fungible, so by doing any aid drop, he is effectively buying them weapons, but will he actually send them guns or missiles? No. What is he going to do, stop the aid to Israel that he never started? He already hung Israel out to dry.
He has the temerity to say he wants a "come to Jesus" moment with Netanyahu. Aside from saying that with reference to a Jew, in Israel, let's remember that the Jesus myth was that he let himself get murdered. And truly, what Biden, the left, and the world are all telling Israel to do is to lay down and let Hamas finish the job.
So really, yes. Come to Jesus. Let them murder you. Here's the thing, though. We are not Christians. In fact, for all your lecturing, none of you would stay in the Garden of Gethsemane either, and none of you turn the other cheek. When someone tries to kill you, you defend yourself, most especially when it is unjust. So do not tell us to "come to Jesus." If he wanted to stay in the Garden of Gethsemane and let them crucify him, and you believe in the mythology surrounding that, you are entitled to your beliefs. When they come to kill us, though, we will not lay down and die. Y'all only (pretend to) like us when we do that. No.
