Breaking news: Joe Manchin and Susan Collins cut deal to let GOP steal 2024 election

Wait, is that not how the deal is being covered by major news outlets?  Huh.  Weird.  Here, let me spell this out for you.  In 2020, Donald Trump went lawyer shopping, and eventually found himself the kookiest kook who ever did kook.  He made Rudy look sane, even getting humiliated by Sacha Baron Cohen.  Eastman cooked up the looniest legal strategy ever, which relied on pressuring Mike Pence to start singing to-may-to, to-mah-to, let's call the whole thing off, but that would have been way too rock 'n roll for our boy, Mikey.  The Vice President does not, in fact, have the legal or constitutional authority to declare which electoral votes count, and you don't actually have to be all that smart to see what would happen if one accepted such a legal premise.  But of course, Trump is a narcissistic moron, so he a) didn't care about the legal soundness of the premise, and b) was happy when a bunch of his brownshirts tried to lynch Pence for following the law, and here we are.

So what can or should be done?  Well, if the moonbats and the wingnuts are all intolerable, obviously we need the centrists to save us, right?  The problem is that the centrists are either empty-headed (Collins), self-serving poseurs (Manchin), or both (OK, Collins).

What happens when you put these two in a room?  Badness.  Of course, they're Senators.  What do you call a group of lions?  A pride.  A group of geese?  A gaggle.  A group of assholes?  A Senate.

So here's what happened.  You know how the Democrats have this thing where they see a problem coming and preemptively surrender?  They did that thing.

Here's what's going to happen in 2024.  Either Donald Trump wins for-real, or he loses, lies and says he won, but blah-blah, fraud.  But this time, his party will be set up to support those lies.  State legislatures are getting ready, and the House will be a Republican majority.  In all likelihood, the Senate too.  A Democratic victory will not be certified.  Period.

So Kamala Harris.  What should she do?  What if GOP state legislatures just throw out their votes and send some Republican electors to Congress, just 'cuz?  I'm not talking fake electors here.  What if these are actually the electors the states send, by just throwing out their votes?  Or if congressional Republicans say fuck it, we're only counting Republican electors because of Italian satellites, or some crazy shit?  According to John Eastman, and Donald Trump, she would be able to throw out whatever bullshit Republicans pull.  Illegal?  Well, let's call it precisely as legal as what Trump demanded of Pence, and precisely as legitimate as what the GOP is going to do if Trump loses in 2024.

And the Democrats are now agreeing to formalize the position that she can't do that.  They won't back her.  They won't have the votes in Congress to stop the GOP from, say, just throwing out the electoral votes of states that certified a Democratic slate, and they are preemptively saying they won't back the turnabout-is-fair-play maneuver, even considering the possibility that it would be necessary to stop real electoral theft from the GOP.

So yeah, Manchin and Collins just cut a deal to ensure that nobody can stop the GOP theft of the 2024 election.

True, I warned that Trump was going to steal the 2020 election, and true, he failed.  Then again, we had January 6, and the party is getting its pieces in position for the next time around, so maybe don't be complacent.
